Tour de France - Stage 4

I've been pretty caught up in the Tour de France lately.

Here is my depiction of the finish of Stage 4, which happened on Tuesday, as Mark Cavendish stood and hurled his bike forward underneath himself (called a "bike throw") to beat out Alberto Contador for the win at the line.

And in mild color!

Original vs. Revised Art

More minor tweaking of old pages. Here is the original first page, then the revised version.

Below is the newer version. It's only partially redrawn.

I think it looks better with the new ship and the birds.

Cover

Here is the incomplete cover to the first issue. I want to change the shading around their eyes.

Style Change

So I've re-drawn just about the entire comic, and am currently filling in the colors. I added a chase seen at the beginning which altered the pacing of the entire book. In doing so, I took a look back at what I'd drawn and realized my style had drastically changed while working on this book over the course of the past year. So, I went back and updated some pages, redrew some others, and am now, again, almost done.

How have things changed? The biggest difference is in how

Martin has opened up as a character. Here are some originals vs. current drawings.

I actually like the drawing on the left a lot, but that's just not who the character is anymore.

The new Martin is more cartoony. He also features crisper lines.

And now, a bunch of recently drawn Martins (and some birds).

Cover Art for an Indie Rock album

My roommate asked me to do some potential cover art for the re-issue of his latest album. The art for the original version was under negotiation withthe artists, and they wanted something to fall back on in case the original art work fell through. Here is what the original looked like:

Alex asked for a cover that featured a brightly-colored girl with a round, blank face staring back at the viewer, in the center of a white cover, with some script in black with the band name above. Ultimately, they were able to get the rights to the original art, so they're going with that.
